Just to make up for that here are some new items!
I was over at Traralgon at Maggie Robertson Designs yesterday and gave a class on very simple applique with wool. We had a great day...Lyndal from Calignee who is a part of Bronwyn Morrissey's group wo are actively getting together to re group after the fire devastation was there,....a great group of the ladies from Sale who had produced some very fine examples of completed 'With needle threaded" thread keepers (Vi's beautiful stitching was a bit different from my original and ...the reason being that
she stitched it without looking at the photo..she just followed my
written instructions which of course led her well astray!!I tried to tell her that it was just a test to keep her on her toes but she wasn't buying that one!)
Also a magnificent worked example of the Hollyhock Cottage packet keeper by Darina....somedays I think I should go and get a real job.!
Thank you ladies for a great day.
..We have made a pact to have some classes to make some embroidered bears next year..like Rupert and Hubert that I made years ago.I have sourced some beautiful cream brushed flannel and am tracking down some lovely threads too..some silks, cottons and wool/silks.I haven't done anything like that for a while so am looking forward to it too.
I taught the ladies Rope stitch ...simple stitch .many uses..seldom used it would seem..as no one had done it before.
This is a rope stitch circle...tricky...a straight or slightly curved band is easier..very pretty as a slightly padded band or garden wall etc...probably easier than Padded satin stitch.
This is the picture we stitched yesterday..will be a penny mat I think ..the ladies were very tolerant of the fact that I hadn't decided how to finish it yet...Best regards to all and thanks Ina and to Natalie Ross for your continued support and enthusiasm for my efforts..it means a lot to me.
